Same Day Agra Tour By Car

Agra is the face of India, where the heritage of Taj Mahal rests in peace. A marvel in marble, the mesmerising beauty of this monument is ethereal and quintessential depiction of grand Mughal period. Apart from this tribute of love, many other world heritage monuments belong to Agra, making it a heritage city of India.

Attractions in Agra –
Taj Mahal - An epitome of Mughal architecture, Taj Mahal is the crowning glory to India. So mighty is the grandeur and mystique of this monument, that it is the dream destination of everyone - young or old, famous or unfamous. The most beautiful building in the world, Taj Mahal catches a million eyeballs everyday. Some witness the splendour of this building whereas others admire the love and tribute behind this immaculate creation.

Agra Fort - Besides Taj Mahal, Agra also has another world heritage site, Agra Fort. The fort is also known as Lal Qila, Fort Rouge and Red Fort of Agra. It is about 2.5 km northwest of its much more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. Famous as the ruling fort of three famous Mughal emperors - Akbar, Jehangir and Shah Jahan, the fort is a melting-pot of their varied sensibilities and artistic brilliance.

Fatehpur Sikri - The ghost town of Agra, Fatehpur Sikri defines the architectural mindsets of majestic Mughals. It is the city almost perfectly preserved as it was.  Earlier the capital of Mughal Empire by Akbar the Great, it was abandoned on accounts of lack of water supply. The present day Fatehpur Sikri serves as an original specimen of brillliance possessed by its constructors. The famous Dargah mosque gives the town a spiritual dimension. Dedicated as a tomb to Salim Chisti, a famous Sufi saint, the mosque is said to be a replica of the one at Mecca. Other famous structures to be visited include palace of Jodha Bai, Birbal Bhavan, Panch Mahal portraying the unique blend of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Muslim & Christian style, a representation of Akbar's enlightened reign.

Itmad-ud-daula - A Mughal burial chamber, Itmad-Ud-Daula was built by Empress Nur Jehan, wife of Emperor Jahangir in memory of her father Ghias-ud-Din Beg, who served as a Chief Minister for the kingdom. Often addressed as the Baby Taj, this mausoleum is often regarded as a first draft of Taj Mahal.
